About Us

Acrewood Photography is home to the photographic art of Scott and Tami Stackelhouse.

The name "Acrewood" was born when Scott's wife, Tami, was two years old. Her parents, Wayne and Kathy Bricco, had purchased nearly three acres of woodland property the year before. Whenever weather permitted, they went there to clear a space in the center big enough to build a house some day. Tami loved to go and play in the dirt. One day as they worked Tami asked, "Is this our Acrewood?" (Yes, her favorite storybook character was Winnie the Pooh!) Ever since that day the Briccos have called their place in the woods "Acrewood". In 2004 Wayne discovered his God-given gift as a pen and ink artist and Acrewood Art was born. (For more on Acrewood Art, and a photo of those early work days, visit www.acrewoodart.com.)

One year later, in 2005, Tami was drawn to some photographs shared in an online forum - Scott's photographs. What intrigued her most was the fact that the photographer who managed to capture really striking color photographs was, in fact, colorblind! Although Tami didn't know it at the time, her reaction to Scott's photographs, and the message they contained, drew his heart towards hers. On May 20, 2006, one year to the day from when Tami and Scott first shared those photos, they were married.

In 2007, Scott and Tami decided to share the photographic gems they'd captured with the rest of the world. The name Acrewood Photography was chosen in honor of the blending of their lives. Along with Scott and Tami's photographs, we will be sharing some of the rest of the family's artistry. Our Guest Artists page will be coming soon.
